Description
Designed for installation aboard multi-role combat aircraft, the ELT/568(V)2 is a solid-state radar jammer that in all-up configuration incorporates a Jamming Source Unit (JSU), three high- and two medium band Antenna Array Units (AAU), one medium and two high-band Solid-State Transmitter Units (SSTU) and two cooling units. In a typical installation, the system's JSU is installed in the aircraft's centre fuselage, with the AAUs being located in the platform's wing roots, fore and aft in an underwing pod and in the base of its vertical tail surface. While not confirmed, Jane's Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems believes that ELT/568(V)2 can also be configured for all-internal installation if required. Other system features include:a multi-threat tracking capability that can handle simultaneous threats coming from 'any' directionactive phased array antennas with electronic beam steering during both the system's transmit and receive modestailored and 'fully' programmable jamming techniques use of digital radio frequency memory technology for digital storage of high fidelity threat signal replicas and to facilitate the generation of dedicated jamming techniques that are stored in the architecture's threat emissions librarythe ability to handle pulse and continuous wave coherent and non-coherent radar emitters (including lock-on, track-while-scan and search)'very' high effective radiated power values in both the system's high- and medium operating bandsthe use of solid-state transceiver modules that, together with the described antenna arrays, facilitate multi-beam pattern generation (for 'accurate' multi-threat engagement) with low power requirements and graceful degradationa support package that includes automatic test, library programming, library loading/unloading and mission planning
