PHOTOS: Check out the two-seater Rafale Fighter Regiment 2/30 "Normandie-Niemen"
Since June 25, 2012, the Regiment de Chasse 2/30 "Normandie-Niemen" was put into operation on the air base 118 of Mont-de-Marsan with Rafale C, at a ceremony chaired by General Jean Paul Paloméros, former Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CEMAA).
This squadron, referring to air-ground missions and those in cooperation with the Special Forces, is composed officially Gust C cars. However, during the month of December 2014, it has received, very discreetly, three Rafale two-seaters to train and educate young laser targeting fighter pilots with the Damocles pod.
The "Normandie-Niemen" has built, for a while, the three Rafale B:
- The Rafale B No. 349, registered 118-FP,
- The Rafale B No. 350, registered 118-FQ,
- The Rafale B 351, registered 11-EN.
This is not the first time that uses 2/30 seaters for training and qualification of its fighter pilots. However, this is the first time that these devices carry the insignia of the squadron on the drift.
At present, the Rafale B 350 joined the air base 113 of Saint-Dizier to offset delivery of 352 B which is for the Egyptian Air Force, the B 349 is ready to EV-DGA (Direction Générale Armament - Flight Test) for a few weeks, and the B 351 remains theoretically at 2/30 for the moment.
