MiSK functions draw 20,000 visitors on first day

RIYADH: The youth-inspiring functions, which were kicked off by Misk Foundation at Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC) on Monday, attracted nearly 20,000 visitors on the first day, according to figures released by the organizing committee.
The six-day functions are primarily aimed to attract 100,000 young Saudis and inspire them to make cultural, literary and scientific content and how to express and write their thoughts.
Visitors extensively interacted with functions of the first day which contained 46 platforms and mini workshops covering four major areas, including writing, drawing, animation, and visual production.
The visual presentations began with two films and a play as well as stories on those who are stationed in the southern border areas told by Sheikh Majid Al-Sabah on his visit to the areas during the Restoration Hope operation.
The organizing committee was keen to combine between the theoretical and practical approaches where it put a major platform for each section and two workshops to train visitors and bring them to the highest degree of proficiency in that area.
The major platform normally allows one of specialist in specific area to shed light on his experience, explore difficulties and obstacles and the best ways to polish talents through benefiting from experiences of outstanding people.
The workshops, meanwhile, are allocated for practical application of the four major areas.
In the area related to writing, journalist Adil Al-Dosari shed light on the importance of a message carried by an article and explored his experience in his journalistic career.
Thamir Al-Ghamdi, meanwhile, presented his 17 years of experience in writing digital content while Abdulrahman Al-Badr presented his experience on content industry. The writing platform was ended by two experiences presented by Hissah Al-Bawadri and Sahar Asiri on script industry.
The workshops witnessed eight practical workshops on blogging techniques, basics in novel writing, script of short films, creative writing and techniques of writing digital content.
The drawing section drew big numbers of those concerned with this area where four platforms were allocated for electronic drawing, direct drawing with black pen, drawing with glue, and caricature. The workshops also witnessed practical samples on how to draw a distinctive figure, sketches, distribution of elements on a page, a live demonstration of e-drawing and animation.
Animation and production sections also drew big numbers of visitors, who benefited from rich experiences presented by participants in areas related to animation, film making, production stages, lighting, film shooting, basics of audio recording and investment in animation industry.
