The Indian Air Force has claimed to have shot down a Pakistan Air Force’ F-16 fighter jet in retaliatory fire 3 Kilometers within Pakistan territory in Nowshera sector.
Pakistan has claimed to have shot down two Indian aircraft ‘inside Pakistani airspace’ early this morning after the Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated claiming that it undertook the strikes across the LoC from within the Pakistani airspace.
Radio Pakistan released a video which it claims is of a captured Indian pilot. "I am Wing Commander Abhinandan, I am IAF officer. My service No is 27 981," the man in the video issued by the Pakistan army says.
While there is no official confirmation from the Indian government, an Indian news agency,
ANI, stated, "IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan took off in a MiG 21 Bison jet today, he is yet to return," quoting unnamed sources as saying.
A Pakistani Air Force F-16 fighter jet was shot down by Indian Air defence forces in Rajouri sector of Jammu region on Wednesday morning, unnamed officials were quoted as saying by
ANI on its Twitter account Wednesday.
The aircraft was brought down in Jhangar area of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri sector, officials in the Indian Army said. Details were awaited.
"In response to PAF strikes this morning as released by MoFA, IAF crossed LOC. PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK.
One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area," Director General ISPR
Major General Asif Ghafoortweeted.
