كشف السفير الأميركي في القاهرة عن استئناف مناورات " النجم الساطع Bright Star " العسكرية بين مصر و الولايات المتحدة الامريكية خلال شهر سبتمبر المقبل ، و ذلك بعد توقفها منذ عام 2009 .

من المقرر أن ايضا تشارك 21 دولة اوروبية وعربية في مناورة النجم الساطع 2017 من بينها ألمانيا بصفة مراقب و ستنطلق فعاليات المناورة من المنطقة الغربية العسكرية
