(Defensa.com) In the barracks "Cortijo Buenavista" in San Roque (Cádiz), home of the Hawk Patriot SAM Group I / 74, held on December 20 the official farewell ceremony quota Patriot Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment ( RAAA) No 74. A quota is projected to Turkey in response to the request for support that made this country the Atlantic Alliance to provide protection to the population against ballistic missile threats from Syria. The Government approved earlier this month a framework agreement for the acquisition of another Patriot air defense system, from German military surplus by more than 41 million euros. The purchase will include the Central component Central Operations Control and Intervention (ICC) and two batteries of forty missiles, plus delivery vehicles, communication systems and additional elements of logistics and maintenance, all originating in the surplus withdrawn by the German Government, with which it has reached a coalition agreement.

In 2004 the Army Patriot acquired other subsystems, namely a battery equipped with a radar, a Director of Fire and eight pitchers Center for four missiles each, plus missile missile capability. However the Central Monitoring and Information now wants to buy with communication systems that allow the interconnection between the Director of Fires Centre and the ICC was not included. The contract shall be packed in five years. The farewell ceremony Patriot quota of RAAA # 74 was chaired by the head of Antiaircraft Artillery Command, General John V.
