The first photos of the Russian S-400 Triumph air defense systems, which were transferred to Algeria, appeared on the Web. Interesting shots were published by the publication "Mena Defense". Three launchers of an anti-aircraft missile system on the BAZ-64022 platform were captured in the frame. This photograph was the first evidence of the appearance of Russian Triumphs in service with Algeria.

Algeria did not hide its interest in Russian weapons and showed interest in buying air defense systems.

According to media reports, the Algerian army deployed the S-400 Triumph air defense system in the south-west and west of the country as a
reinforcement to the S-300PMU-2 complexes, which have been in service with Algeria since 2003.
