Frankly, the first time I saw it, it looked to me like an f16 but with Turkish genes, even the dimensions are quite similar, I don't know what the future is hiding for this aircraft, probably the are preparing it to abandon the f16, and future blocks of this fighter might become more and more capable and probably more than just a light fighter
Thx for the picture, as I suspected, it is not the old hurjet anymore, something going on, probably the f16 is going out of the picture at some point of time

Türkiye'nin milli imkanlarla geliştirdiği Jet eğitim uçağı Hürjet'te "Tayfun" motoru kullanılacak.
Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayi (TUSAŞ) ile Eurojet firması arasında iyi niyet anlaşması imzalandı. Fransa'nın başkenti Paris'te düzenlenen Le Bourget havacılık Fuarı'nda TUSAŞ adına Ceo Dr. Temel Kotil, Eurojet konsorsiyumu adına Ceo Clemens Linden imza attı. Eufighter Typhoon uçağında 2 adet bulunan motor hürjet uçağında 1 adet yer alacak. C4Defence'in edindiği bilgiye göre iki motor ile 1 milyon saat üzerinde uçuş tecrübesine sahip firma motor üzerinde basit tadilat gerçekleştirecek. Tek motor kullanımı için gerçekleşecek değişim sonrasında motor serifiye oluncaya kadar prototip olarak adlandırılacak.

The "Preliminary Design Review" phase of the HÜRJET Project was successfully completed. Hürjet aims to complete its critical design in the summer of 2020 and to prepare it for the first flight in the summer of 2022.
