At Euronaval 2014, Thales is launching the new SEARCHMASTER multirole surveillance radar (AESA)
SEARCHMASTER, developed by Thales, is a truly multirole surveillance radar with the ability to meet all the surveillance requirements of five mission types: antisurface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, maritime surveillance, ground surveillance and tactical air support.

SEARCHMASTER is equiped with a AESA active antenna and is suitable for a multitude of platform

SEARCHMASTER features an AESA active electronic scanning antenna based on fully qualified technologies developed for the RBE2 AESA nose-mounted radar on the Rafale combat aircraft. The key benefits of this new product are extended range, 360° coverage, electronic scanning in the vertical plane for simultaneous short-range and longrange surveillance, and continuous detection in harsh environmental conditions.

The SEARCHMASTER radar benefits from Thales's technological leadership in active electronic scanning antennas and the know-how acquired in this area on the combat aircraft programme.

This high-performance radar meets the requirements of airborne surface, ground and air surveillance missions. Thanks to its compact, lightweight design (approximately 75 kg), it is easy to install and integrate with a system. It is suitable for MALE (medium altitude, long endurance) UAVs, medium-tonnage or heavy-lift mission helicopters and mission aircraft (turboprop or jet-engined), providing all these platforms with multimission capabilities. In addition, the introduction of AESA technology, coupled with innovative concepts of integrated maintenance, pushes down maintenance costs and improves operational availability.

SEARCHMASTER has been selected by the French defence procurement agency (DGA) for the French Navy's upgraded Atlantique 2 (ATL2) maritime patrol aircraft.

SEARCHMASTER offers extremely high levels of threat detection performance and meets the requirements of five mission types: anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare, maritime surveillance, ground surveillance and tactical air support.

يستفيد الرادار الجديد من تقنية الرادار المطور للرافال بقدرة ايسا ... يبلغ وزنه 75 كج بقدرة تغطية 360 درجة ... الرادار مناسب ايضا لتطبيقات اخرى كطائرات UAV من نوع MALE اضافة لهيليكوبترات النقل الثقيل والطائرات النفاثة اضافة لذات المروحة ( توربوبروب ) .. تم اختياره لتركيبه على طائرة الدورية البحرية الفرنسية ( اتلانتيك 2 )

لديه قدرات عالية جدا على الكشف في مستويات عدة : الحرب المضادة للتهديدات السطحية , الحرب المضادة للغواصات , الاستطلاع البحري , الاستطلاع الارضي والدعم الجوي التكتيكي .

DCNS presents the innovative XWIND 4000 concept ship design at EURONAVAL 2014
At this year’s Euronaval show, DCNS is presenting XWIND 4000, a concept ship combining all of the Group’s main innovations for future naval surface systems. The uniquely designed XWIND 4000 concept ship presented by DCNS at this year’s Euronaval show features all the latest innovations being developed by the Group's R&D teams. These innovations will be available on DCNS surface ships in the short to medium term future.

“XWIND 4000 has been designed around the concept of an ‘all-digital’ ship,” explains Marketing Manager Philippe Sathoud. “Flat-panel arrays for the combat system and other sensors are installed around the superstructure. This provides unprecedented hemispherical coverage and enables all the sensors to operate at the same time without generating interference between transmitters and receivers.
With this configuration, shipboard systems can respond dynamically to evolving threats such as terrorism, piracy or sensor saturation attacks.”

To enhance the platform’s detection, identification and engagement capabilities, surveillance UAVs or armed UAVs are part of the combat system design. These offboard systems can deploy a broad range of optronic, radar or electronic warfare payloads as well as rockets or missiles. DCNS is a pioneer in this field and the only warship designer already offering this solution. The UAVs remain under the commander’s orders at all times and are controlled from the ops room.

The XWIND 4000’s innovative all-digital design is also apparent in the intuitive human-systems interfaces for the ship's two nerve centres, touchscreens, voice commands and Kinect™ technology in the ops room, and 360° vision, augmented reality technology and user interfaces similar to smartphones on the bridge. All the digital systems run on a secure datacentre architecture hosting combat system and platform management applications in a virtual environment that allocates resources as operational requirements evolve.

The conceptship XWIND®4000 prefigures the ship of the future and the physical and functional integration of technological building blocks that could be implemented in the future. More than a conceptship, XWIND®4000 is a condensed version of all the innovations resulting from R&D work available in the medium term for future DCNS ships:

- Integrated superstructures (topside): optimized physical and functional integration of sensors (GE, radar, optronics) and communication implementing state-of-the-art technologies (flat plate antennas, metasensors, LIDAR etc.),
- Naval integration of drones: implementation from the ship and controlled by the Commander, surveillance drones equipped with several payloads (EO/IR pods), surmar radar, AIS etc.) that can carry weapons.
- Next Gen Combat Bridge concept for innovative plaform operation.
- New generation Operations Center for conducting tactial operations.
- Asymmetical threat combat system
- Ship’s datacenter allowing the optimization of resources (calculation and storage capacity) through the virtualization of the ship’s CMS (combat management system) and SMS (ship management system) applications.
- Energy control: modular hybrid propulsion, dynamic ship consumption management.
- Configurable, modular zones (T BONE)

The XWIND concept also includes a hybrid propulsion system that is innovative in two ways. First, the compact propulsion system (diesel engines, electric motor-generator and reduction gears) is housed in a single 'box' assembled and tested at the factory. Second, batteries store the excess electricity produced by the ship's alternators operating at optimum efficiency and can power the electric motor to offer a completely silent mode of propulsion when the ship is travelling at low speeds. The fuel saving is on the order of 10%,and maintenance costs are 40%lower since there is less wear on the diesels. At the same time, the system offers added discretion and a smaller environmental footprint.

The ship has three groups of vertical launcher silos and a main artillery in a stealth turret. It is also equipped with remote weapon station designed for machine gun, missile, laser... The XWind 4000 can speed up to 30 knots.




السفينة الشبحية تعتمد على كونسبت السفينة الرقمية بالكامل بحيث تنتشر المصفوفات المسطحة والمستشعرات على بدن السفينة الشبحي بما يوفر تغطية دائرية غير مسبوقة ويمكن هذا الكونسبت جميع المستشعرات ان تعمل بدون التداخل بين مرسلاتها ومستقبلاتها ..

من اجل تعزيز قدرة السفينة على الاكتشاف, التعرف والاشتباك .. جرى دمج طائرات استطلاع بدون طيار او بدون طيار مسلحة كجزء من تصميم السفينة القتالي .. هذه الطائرات سيمكنها حمل توليفة واسعة من الاجهزة البصرية , الرادار او حمولات الحرب الالكترونية اضافة للصواريخ .. ستكون هذه الطائرات تحت امرة قائد السفينة في كل الاوقات وسيتم التحكم بها عبر غرفة العمليات .

تصميم السفينة الرقمي بالكامل والمبتكر سيحوي ايضا واجهات التحكم متطورة , شاشات لمسية , مركزين عصبيين , انظمة للتحكم بالصوت وباشارات اليد ( Kinect ) .. جميع انظمتها الرقمية تمر عبر مركز بيانات مؤمن يحوي نظام السفينة القتالي ونظام تطبيقات ادارة المنصة في بيئة افتراضية تتيح جميع الموارد حين يتطلب الموقف العملياتي ذلك .

للسفينة 3 مجموعات من حاويات الاطلاق العامودية + مدفع رئيس بتصميم برج شبحي ,, وكذلك هي مزودة بمحطة سلاح بالتحكم عن بعد للمدفع الرشاش , الصواريخ والليزر الخ ..

السفينة لديها قدرة على الوصول لسرعة 30 عقدة .

During Euronaval 2014, which is held at Le Bourget near Paris, Rafael displays the Typhoon MLS-ER Naval Missile System. The system includes Spike-ER missiles, launchers, an Electro Optical director and a fire control system.

The light-weight, stabilized system can be installed on a variety of platforms, ranging from Rigid Hull Inflated Boats (RHIBs) to larger boats and ships. Spike ER is an electro-optically guided multipurpose missile for ranges of up to 8km with pinpoint accuracy.

Typhoon MLS-ER features day and night operation and includes Fire-and-Forget, as well as Fire-and-Observe and Update modes of operation. This enables the gunner to switch between targets after launch, avoid friendly fire, conduct surveillance/damage assessment and attack hidden targets. Additionally, the Typhoon MLS-ER features a Fire and Steer mode, in which the gunner can launch the missile without pre-locking onto the target and manually steer it to the target.

Typhoon MLS-ER includes day and night surveillance and tracking cameras for independent weapon system operation.

Typhoon MLS-ER draws on the battle proven, reliable assets of the Spike Family Missiles and particularly the ER Missile, to provide maximum operational flexibility with minimal life-cycle cost.



النظام الجديد يحوي اضافة للمعدات الكهروبصرية ونظام ادارة النيران ..صواريخ سبايك ER الشهيرة .
يتميز البرج بخفته وثباته وامكانية تركيبه على عدد من المنصات تتراوح مابين القوارب القابلة للنفخ ( RHIBs ) ولغاية الزوارق والسفن الاكبر حجما ..
صواريخ سبايك ER متعددة المهام ولديها مدى يصل لـ 8 كم بدقة متناهية .. النظام يستطيع العمل ليل نهار بخاصية اطلق وانسى وتفادي النيران الصديقه وكذلك بامكانية عمل الاستطلاع وتقييم الخسائر واستهداف الاهداف المتخفية ..

اضافة لذلك .. يوفر قدرة اطلق ووجه والتي تتيح للمدفعي ان يطلق الصاروخ بدون القيام باغلاق مسبق على الهدف والقيام بتوجيه الصاروخ يدويا بعد الاطلاق .

النظام الجديد يبني على القدرات المبرهنة للصاروخ سبايك الشهير ولذلك لتوفير اعلى مرونة تشغيلية بأقل التكاليف .
