Rabat is polling its main arms suppliers, the United States, France and Spain, to decide which to lean when it comes to creating joint ventures aimed at the defense industry .

According to a recent study by the American firm Frost & Sullivan , Morocco is emerging as one of the five countries in which the emerging military construction is expected in the next decade.

The other countries cited by US consultants are Colombia, Kuwait, Malaysia and Singapore.

The military spending of the five mentioned countries will rise as the Californian company's current 38,700 million today to more than 55,500 million at the end of the decade , with an average annual growth of 3.7%.

The main concern of Rabat on arms procurement is to obtain "technology transfer" p or part of its international partners, and it has expressed in the discussions undertaken with Madrid, Paris and Washington.

The Alawite kingdom wants to follow the example of its neighbor and rival Algeria, which has concluded major arms manufacturing agreements with German companies.

Morocco studies conclude contracts with Spanish industries to manufacture small troop transport aircraft, with the French for warships and American companies for armored transport and maritime reconnaissance aircraft.

While Rabat prohibits not reach important agreements with the Russian manufacturers intended to adopt an arms industry for the Navy and the Army.
