TUCSON, Dec. 24 (UPI) – Raytheon reports the receipt of new military contracts for Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missiles and support services for shipboard electronic systems.
The combined value of the separate contracts is more than $517.5 million.
The first award covers the production of AMRAAMs, including those being purchased from the United States by Korea, Oman, Singapore and Thailand through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.
Raytheon said the missiles will be made at a facility in Arizona. Work under the contract will be completed in early 2017.
In addition to the missiles, the company will also provide other AMRAAM system items, such as captive air training missiles, common munitions and bit/re-programming equipment.
AMRAAM missiles are used on F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F-22, Typhoon, Gripen, Tornado, Harrier, F-4 and the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
