In cooperation with Sagem Safran, EDT provides a remotely controlled, lightweight and affordable under
Armor for Self Protection (WASP) weapons system that can be fitted on light armored vehicles and trucks.
The system can use either a 7.62mm or 5.56mm machine gun, while using the FELIN as its remote
observation.

بالتعاون مع ساجيم و سافران , توفر شركة الامارات للتكنولوجيا الدفاعية برج السلاح الموجه عن بعد , الخفيف الوزن WASP والذي يمكن تركيبه على المدرعات الخفيفة والشاحنات .
النظام يمكنه ان يستخدم العيارين 7.62mm او 5.56mm في الوقت الذي يستخدم فيه نظام FELIN ( نظام جندي المشاة الفرنسي المستقبلي ) كوسيلة استطلاع عن بعد .

تطوير شركة MBDA لنظام برج السلاح الموجه عن بعد WASP

This turret includes most of the components of the WASP turret (launched by Panhard and Sagem in 2008) including, in particular, the capability of operating a 7.62 mm machine gun under armour forclose defence of the vehicle. The WASP's Sagem camera has, however, been replaced with a multi-sensor camera of the CM3 type to provide the crew with long-distance observation capability by day and night and in all weather plus the capability of firing a MILAN ER missile to engage and destroy any battlefield threat within a range of 3000 m.

تم في هذا التطوير استبدال كاميرا ساجيم بكاميرا اخرى من نوع CM3 القادرة على توفير مراقبة ابعد مدى ليلا ونهارا وفي كل ضروف الطقس اضافة للقدرة على اطلاق صواريخ Milan ER للاشتباك بتهديدات ساحة العمليات وتدميرها ضمن مدى 3000 متر .

WASP, a remotely-controlled turret for up to 7.62-mm calibermachine guns, offers an innovative day/night self-protection solution for light armored vehicles and trucks with armored cabs. Available in several versions, WASP can incorporate a range of optronics equipment: day and thermal sight SWORD T&D from the dismounted soldier equipment (FELIN program) or the CM3 multifunction camera. Combining a daytime channel, thermal channel and laser rangefinder, the CM3 camera offers higher observation capabilities to the weapon range, thus providing WASP turrets with a real surveillance function. WASP’s wide elevation axis makes it especially efficient in urban combat zones.
