طائرة هيليكوبتر جديدة صنع تونسي تطرح في الاسواق العالمية هذه السنة
A New Helicopter that Uses Unleaded Gasoline Manufactured in Tunisia
Since the year 2007, an aeronautical company, aviotech, has been operating and manufacturing light aircrafts and helicopters in Tunisia.
The company, based in the north side of Tunis, is owned by a group of Italian investors and, during the last years, exported worldwide over 30 light aircrafts.
The commercial activity is managed by AVIOTRADING, a trading company active in the aeronautical field.
The year 2012 will be the year of a new innovative helicopter: the Ghibli 260.
Ghibli 260 is a four seats helicopter powered by the certified Sikorsky three blades rotor.
On the Ghibli 260 is installed a 280 HP engine utilizing standard automotive unleaded gasoline instead of AVGAS fuel. The new engine, an aviation version of a G.M. engine, is the first in the world able to operate at high altitude utilizing the standard unleaded gasoline instead of AVGAS fuel.
The advantage of utilizing the unleaded gasoline is very important: the unleaded fuel is available also in little villages, so it's possible to fly everywhere you need to be without the restriction to refuel the helicopter with AVGAS. The aviation gasoline is quite expensive and available only in few airports.
The new helicopter is ideal for low-cost emergency transports, agricultural use, air-ambulance, border surveillance, police patrol, etc.
Five months ago, a group of Libyan operators where in Tunisia visiting the manufacturing company with the prospect of ordering a number of them.
There is a possibility that Libya could buy ghibli 260 equipped with medical instruments to be utilized as air-ambulance. The first unit is expected to be operative in South Sudan in short time for VIP transfers to a first class Hotel.
A second unit is expected to be operative in Tunisia as air-ambulance before the end of the year.
