Saudi Arabia’s military cooperation with Ukraine is under threat due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Over the past years, Riyadh has cultivated a fruitful relationship with Ukrainian defense companies for obtaining military technology and localized production. Some of Riyadh’s Ukrainian partners are Yuzhnoye Design Bureau, Pavlograd Chemical Plant, State Design Bureau “Luch”, NVK Iskra, Proximus and others.
The most important Saudi-Ukrainian projects include the Hrim ballistic missiles, An-132 cargo aircraft, Vilkha-M multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), Bukovel electronic warfare (EW) system, 90K63 air defense radar, and more.

Український веб-сайт новин повідомляв, що влітку 2017 року місто короля Абдулазіза з питань науки та технологій (KACST) придбало матеріали, пов'язані з українсько-саудівською розробкою ракети Grom-2 (Thunder) Tunder-2 у компанії "Янгель". Як повідомляє сайт diana-mihailova.livejournal.com, серед матеріалів, отриманих Інститутом, є первісна розробка проекту та всі його документи, оцінені приблизно в 4 мільйони доларів, повідомляє російське агентство "Спутник".
