An F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed during a routine training flight Tuesday night near Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, according to the Air Force.
The pilot was able to eject from the aircraft and is being treated at a local hospital, base officials said in a news release. The F-16, assigned to the 49th Wing, went down at around 7:16 p.m. just 80 miles southeast of the base.
