North Korea reportedly fired another missile Friday, a time when tensions over nuclear and missile tests and United Nations sanctions have the Korean peninsula on edge.
South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that the “unidentified” missile was fired from Pyongyang, the capital of the communist dictatorship.
Japan’s NHK network said the missile was headed toward the northeastern part of Japan. Japanese officials have warned residents there to take shelter.
South Korea’s presidential office called a meeting of its National Security Council on Friday, Yonhap reported.
Meanwhile Friday, the South Korean military was conducting a missile-defense drill in Korea’s Eastern Sea.
