Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri celebrates on Monday a contract to build 124 F/A-18 fighter jets for
Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government wants the F/A-18 fighter jet in its military and Boeing said it is ready to fill the order.

This brings a sigh of relief to the metro area after Boeing first announced a restructuring and possible layoffs in September 2010. This deal will likely keep thousands of jobs in place in St. Louis.

"Well, the Superhornet is the leading fighter for our U.S. Navy today and it supports roughly 16,000 Boeing jobs, here in the region," said Dennis Mullenberg, president of Boeing Defense, Space and Security.

He said an additional 100,000 jobs across the country support the program, as well. The deal also brings a sense of stability to the area. Those planes will be built and delivered over the next three years

الخبر يقول :ان شركة بوينج احتفلت اليوم الاثنين بتوقيع عقدلبناء 124 مقاتلة اف 18 لصالح الحكومة السعودية .
السعودية تريد المقاتلة اف 18 فى جيشها وبوينج قالوا انهم مستعدين لتلبية الطلب

وبقية الموضوع عن ان الصفقة ستوفر 16000 فرصة عمل بالاضافة الى 100000 وظيفة اخري لتدعيم البرنامج التصنيع يعنى بالاضافة انها تعطى شعور بالاستقرار فى المنطقة

الخبر يقول ايضا ان المقاتلات سيتم تسليمها فى خلال الثلاث سنوات القادمة

الف الف مبروك للمملكة وهى فى طريقها لان تصبح قوة جوية عظمة ويبدو ان خادم الحرمين لم يذهب للولايات المتحدة من اجل العلاج فقط

السعودية ليست لديها قدرات صناعية وإمكانات تقنية تسمح لها بصناعة قطع غيار وتسليح الطائرة

لذلك سيتم عقد عقود صيانة وتسليح لسنوات طويلة وستتضاعف الصفقة .. كما ان الأسعار التي

تعرض على السعودية تكون مضاعفة وليست كما هي للبحرية الأميريكة .. ايضاً تكون هناك فساد ..

وفوق كل هذا السعودية لاتملك القدرة على استيعاب كل هذه الطائرات حالياً .. ..

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 28, 2010 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has been awarded a new multi-year procurement (MYP) contract from the U.S. Navy for 124 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft.
The new contract is valued at $5.297 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Boeing will deliver 66 Super Hornets and 58 Growlers to the Navy from 2012 through 2015.
"The men and women of Boeing are honored to provide the Super Hornet's advanced, combat-proven multirole capability and the EA-18G's unmatched airborne electronic attack capability to the American warfighters serving their nation around the world each day," said Boeing F/A-18 and EA-18 Programs Vice President Kory Mathews. "Procurement of these 124 aircraft through a multi-year contract takes advantage of the full efficiencies of Boeing’s production and supplier operations, which will generate more than $600 million in cost savings for U.S. taxpayers."
The new contract is the third multi-year agreement between Boeing and the Navy for production of the F/A-18E/F, the Navy's frontline strike fighter, which delivers forward-deployed air combat capability around the world from the decks of 11 Navy aircraft carriers, including ongoing missions in Afghanistan.
The EA-18G, the United States' newest combat aircraft, conducts advanced airborne electronic attack (AEA) missions to support Navy and joint force requirements. The EA-18G is scheduled for its first combat deployment later this year.
"Boeing and its Hornet Industry Team suppliers have delivered every Super Hornet and Growler on schedule to the warfighter and on budget for the taxpayer from the first Super Hornet delivery,” said Mathews. “The first two F/A-18E/F multi-year contracts generated more than $1.7 billion in savings for the United States. We look forward to continuing to provide unmatched capability and value through this contract."
Boeing delivered 210 Super Hornets to the Navy during the initial F/A-18E/F MYP, which spanned fiscal years 2000 through 2004. Boeing was then awarded a second MYP that included aircraft procurement during fiscal years 2005 through 2009. Aircraft deliveries under that contract continue through 2011 and total 257 aircraft.
The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a multirole aircraft, able to perform virtually every mission in the tactical spectrum, including air superiority, day/night strike with precision-guided weapons, fighter escort, close air support, suppression of enemy air defenses, maritime strike, reconnaissance, forward air control and tanker missions. Boeing has delivered more than 430 F/A-18E/Fs to the U.S. Navy.
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is the only air combat platform that delivers full-spectrum AEA capability along with the targeting and self-defense capabilities derived from the Navy's frontline fighter, the F/A-18E/F Block II Super Hornet. A derivative of the two-seat F/A-18F Block II, the EA-18G's highly flexible design enables warfighters to operate either from the deck of an aircraft carrier or from land-based airfields. It is replacing the Navy's current AEA platform, the EA-6B Prowler, which has been in service since 1971. The EA-18G joined the Navy's aircraft fleet in 2008, when it was introduced to fleet training squadron VAQ-129.

(Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N) has finalized a $5.3 billion four-year agreement with the U.S. Navy to build 124 F/A-18 fighter jets and electronic attack planes, a deal that will generate savings of over $600 million.

The deal, announced on Tuesday by Boeing and the Pentagon, calls for the company to deliver 66 F/A-18 "Super Hornet" fighters and 58 EA-18G airframes designed for electronic attack to the Navy from 2012 through 2015.

The Pentagon said the multiyear agreement was on fixed-price terms, with an incentive fee -- terms that will limit the government's liability in the event of any cost overruns.

Boeing also won a $249 million contract for logistics support for the F/A-18 fighters, which operate worldwide from the decks of 11 Navy aircraft carriers --- including ongoing missions in Afghanistan.

Boeing said the agreement would generate more than $600 million in savings by allowing Boeing and its suppliers to plan further ahead and buy materials in bulks, making production more efficient than under a single year contract.

The contract is based on a price of about $42.7 million per airplane, excluding their engines and other government-furnished equipment.

This is the third multiyear agreement Boeing has signed with the Navy for the F/A-18 fighter program. The company said the first two agreements, which each spanned five years, saved about $1.7 billion in total. It said it had delivered every one of the planes on schedule and on budget.

"Procurement of these 124 aircraft through a multiyear contract takes advantage of the full efficiencies of Boeing's production and supplier operations, which will generate more than $600 million in cost savings for U.S. taxpayers," said Kory Matthews, vice president of Boeing F/A-18 and EA-18 programs.

The Navy said in May that it planned to proceed with a third multiyear agreement after securing a 10 percent price cut that satisfied top Pentagon leaders.

The contract is good news for Boeing, securing steady revenues for the company at a time when U.S. defense spending is expected to flatten or decline, and the Pentagon is investing less in new aircraft programs.

The F/A-18 fighter also remains in demand from foreign buyers and Boeing is bidding in fighter competitions around the world.

The United Arab Emirates recently asked the U.S. government for technical information about the plane, after ending earlier exclusive talks with France's Dassault about the Rafale fighter, according to sources familiar with the issue.

The U.A.E.'s interest in the F/A-18, first reported by Defense News earlier this month, could be a significant blow to French hopes of securing an agreement with the Gulf country.

Boeing spokesman Damien Mills declined comment on any approach by the U.A.E., but said any international customers that bought airplanes during the years covered by the newest multiyear deal with the Navy would gain synergies from lean production techniques and cost reduction initiatives.

Boeing and its backers in Congress had strongly pushed for a third multiyear contract because it gives the company a more stable funding source and shores up jobs in local economies.

The deal also gives the Navy a fallback option if more problems arise with the next-generation F-35 fighter being built by Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) to replace older model F/A-18s and other fighter jets.

Boeing shares closed nearly one percent higher at $64.52 after the company announced that it was delivering the first two of four long-delayed refueling tankers to Italy later this year.

كنت اتوقع حسن النية بأخوك المسلم لكن عموماً لابأس يا اخي الفاضل ..

سعر الأف 15 100 مليون دولار وسعر الأف 18 سوبر هورنت يتراوح بين 50-55 مليون دولار ,, هذه الأسعار للزبون الخارجي ,,

بالمناسبة الفساد تقريبا شبه معدوم في الصفقات الأمريكية ,,,

اخي عدد ردودي ليست من شأنك هذه مسؤوليتي .. الأخبار التي جلبتها هي الخبر الذي تم نسبه

للسعودية وهي بالحقيقة للبحرية الأميريكية .. اذا انت لم تقتنع انت حر .. انا جلبت مصادري كلها

والآن انا اطلب منك مصادر ان الطيارين السعودية تدربوا على الـ F 18 وليس للـ f 15 الجديدة

المتعاقد عليها .. واحضر لي صفقة طائرات واحدة بدون ان تشملها عقود صيانة بالملايين التي انت

نفيتها بشكل غير مباشر ..

اخي هل انت مازلت مقتنع بأن هذه الصفقة للسعودية ؟

يا أخي هناك صفقة سعودية للأف 18 ... مواصفات الطائرات ستكون خليط بين السوبر هورنت والسايلنت هورنت ,,وبالمناسبة هي ليست فقط للبحرية بل أيضا هناك جزء مخصص للحرس الوطني

المفاوضات بدأت في شهر أكتوبر من العام الماضي وستحسم قبل نهاية هذا العام ,, العدد لا أعرفه بالتحديد ولكن قريب من العدد المذكور ,,

عموما موضوع الصفقة قد تناقشت فيه أنا وأخي تقنية قبل تقريبا سنة من الأن ,,, لو بعض الأخوة يراجعون ردود الأخ تقنية سيجدون مناقشاتنا بالتفصيل ,,,

لو الصفقة للسعودية لكان صيغة الخبر 72 او 84 طائرة ب 50 مليار الصفقة هذه عدد طائرات كثير وقيمة قليلة وهذا عكس ماتعودنا علية بالصفقات السعودية
