نظام Praetorian على مقاتلات EF-Typhoon هو نظام حماية بإسم " praetorian defensive aids sub-system "
النظام تم دمجه مع كل انظمة الطيران بالطائرة .. ويعرض على قمرة القيادة لدى الطيار وهو مايقلل من العبئ على الطيار ..بحيث يتم عرض كل التهديدات وتعيين قدر الخطر على الطائرة ويتم التعامل مع هذه الاخطار بشكل آلي

DASS is integrated with all of the other avionics subsystems and the cockpit
display which has a dedicated format giving a plan view of the battle space
showing the pilot any threats around the aircraft. The system is data driven and
automated. It reduces the pilot’s work load by displaying what threats are in
the battle space, how much of a risk each one poses to his or her aircraft and
provides automated cues for countermeasures. "
يحوي النظام على عدد من المستشعرات في المقاتلة لتكون للطيار وعي ظرفي وتكامل مع رادار المقاتلة E-Scan .. أول اجزاء النظام هو الـESM اختصارا لـ electronic support measures وهو احد انظمة الاستشعار " الاستخبار " الالكتروني ( حيث يكشف الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية كالانظمة الايجابية بشكل عام Radar , Active MAW , Jamming ) حيث يبلغ مداه 100 كم على الاقل لـTranche 1 ويغطي 360 درجة
" The accuracy of the RWR/ESM is to be below one degree in azimuth. The distance of the exact location of emitters (to the sides of the aircraft, where detection will be more accurate) is to be at least 100 km. The identification of emitters will enable threat prioritization, with information presented on a moving map or on any multifunction display as needed. "
سيتم زيادة قدرات الـESM/ECM بشكل كبير في Tranche 3 بتحسينات على قوة التشويش وبعض التعديلات على الهوائيات .. كما سيغطي الترددات المنخفضة ( UHF/VHF ) وجهاز استقبال تحديد المواقع بشكل دقيق interferometric receiver ( تقنية جديدة لتحديد لـESM تجعله أكثر دقة )

تستخدم التايفون نوعين من التشويش الخداعي .. DRFM و Cross-Eye النوع الثاني ..
هي طريقة تشويش تعتمد على حاضنين تشويش بمسافة متساوية بحيث يولدان حزم تشويش مكررة ومتطابقة .. الرادار الذي سيتم عمل Jamming عليه بهذه الطريقة ستظهر الـEF-Typhoon في مكان آخر
" This system uses two widely spaced radio frequency emitters (one in each wing tip pod) to generate two identical repeater type jamming beams. These can be directed at an incoming missile or aircraft and under tight control they can cause a significant aiming error within the opposing systems radar. This should result in the opposing missile or aircraft believing the Eurofighter is in an entirely different location. "
