Abu Dhabi - Nexter has signed a number of deals for munitions and local industrial cooperation aimed at boosting its business in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East region, an executive of the French land systems company said at the IDEX show here.
Among recent contract wins:
* The supply of 30mm ammunition for the Dassault Mirage 2000-9 fighters of the UAE Air Force, a deal signed with the International Golden Group, based here, in early 2011.

Supply of a "very significant number" of Bonus 155mm, 52-caliber anti-tank artillery rounds for an undisclosed Middle East country, signed toward the end of 2010. Nexter has sold its Caesar truck-mounted artillery to Saudi Arabia and Thailand, as well as the French Army.

* A deal with the International Golden Group to supply the Azur up-armor kit for the UAE Army's Leclerc battle tank. The kit includes extra protection for combat in urban zones.
Nexter executives are looking to that recent sale of Bonus rounds to provide a sales platform for the UAE Army.

انا باعتقادي ان الامارات لديها مدافع من نفس عيار الذخيرة ( والتي هي من نوع اطلق وانسى , بمعنى انها لاتحتاج سوى لمنصة الاطلاق المتلائمة مع العيار )

UAE M109 upgrade
In August 1995,
Abu Dhabi, one of the states of the United Arab Emirates, purchased 85 155 mm M109A3 series self-propelled howitzers from the Royal Netherlands Army.
Under a contract worth G53 million, RDM Technology has carried out major upgrades of these M109A3s and then delivered them to Abu Dhabi.
The M109A3s were not only overhauled but will also be updated in a number of key areas including the installation of a new 155 mm 47 calibre ordnance from Switzerland (as fitted to the upgraded M109s of the Swiss Army) and an NBC system.
The installation of a new 155 mm 47 calibre ordnance will enable the M109A3 to fire an M107 high-explosive projectile to a maximum range of 23,000 m or an assisted projectile to a maximum range of approximately 35,000 m.
Actual upgrade work on the M109A3s commenced in 1996 and will continue for a period of three years.
The Royal Netherlands Army had a fleet of 222 M109s but as a result of restructuring, this was cut to just 137 systems with the remainder being put up for sale. With the sale to Abu Dhabi, the Royal Netherlands Army has reached its objective

among them the UAE. In a recent test, SMART ammunition was fired from a UAE G6 self-propelled howitzer and scored kills of 67 percent of the armored target. Test results also show that the SMArt(R) 155 is capable of distinguishing a hot target from a cold background as well as a cold target from a hot background

لذلك اميل للاعتقاد بانها الامارات العربية المتحدة , لجهة عقد نيكستر صفقة مع بركان لتصنيع الذخائر وبالاخص , ذكر كلمة ( الجيل الجديد من الذخائر )
The signing of the "gentlemen's agreement" on local munitions production opens the way for talks to begin in April on work shares. The first batch of shells to be locally produced would be practice rounds before moving on to making combat munitions,
which are expected to include new-generation high explosive and armor-piercing shells.
توقيع الاتفاقية بخصوص انتاج الذخائر محليا يفتح الباب امام محادثات لتبدأ في ابريل بخصوص اقسام العمل , اول دفعة من الذخائر مصنعة محليا ستكون ذخائر تدريب قبل الانتقال لصناعة الذخائر القتالية , والتي يتوقع ان تكون جيلا جديدا من الذخائر شديدة الانفجار والخارقة للدروع .
