The Egyptian Army, which is procuring mostly US made arms since 1978, is renewing its interest in Eastern make weaponry. The Air-Defense command is reviewing acquisition of the SA-24 Grinch and the SA-19 Tanguska systems. Ukranian Malyshev Plant was awarded a contract in 2012 to overhaul and upgrade Czech made OT-62 APC’s and Russian T-62 tanks.
