The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide mission planning support for the F-22 Raptor.

The order, valued at up to $24 million if all options are exercised, was awarded under the Air Force's Mission Planning Enterprise Contract-II (MPEC-II). Boeing is one of five contractors selected in June 2010 for MPEC-II, an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity program with an approximate total value of $920 million over 10 years. The MPEC-II contract provides for the extension and sustainment of mission planning software, services and solutions.

Under the new contract, Boeing will continue development and integration of the existing F-22 Mission Planning Environment (MPE), which provides the ability to interactively plan and validate missions. The MPE gives F-22 crews a full range of mission information, from preflight data reports to postflight debriefing materials.

The F-22 is built by Lockheed Martin in partnership with Boeing and Pratt & Whitney. Boeing supplies the aircraft’s wings and aft fuselage; integrates and tests the advanced avionics; and has responsibility for pilot and maintenance training systems.

Description
The Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) is the replacement for all US military unit mission-planning systems, providing an integrated planning capability for aircraft, weapon and sensor missions and intended for both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft and UAVs. JMPS is a Windows XP, PC-based common solution and comprises COTS, GOTS, and newly developed software. It is a system of common and host platform-unique mission planning applications. It incorporates legacy Navy Portable Flight Planning Software (N-PFPS) capabilities. It uses software components as basic building blocks for the system, the JMPS Mission Planning Environment (MPE). An MPE is a total set of developed applications built from modules. The basis of an MPE is the Framework, to which a Unique Planning Component is added for the specific aircraft type. Other common components that can support multiple users are added as well to complete the MPE. JMPS will be certified and accredited to handle system-high operations at the Top Secret level and above. A server walkaway facility enables JMPS to be used on a laptop that can be disconnected and later reconnected to a network of JMPS planning stations. Upon reconnection, all changes will update the network data sources selected by the user.Capabilities include:Task View: This provides the mission planner with a way to parse the Air Tasking Order (ATO).Administrative Functions: These functions make the system uniform for groups of users. سؤالي كان عن الامور الفنية بشكل كامل .. يعني النظام الجديد ماذا سيضيف للطائرة من مميزات ..؟

اعتقد انها ستكون قادرة على تنفيذ مهمات متنوعه مثل جو-جو و جو-ارض ................ وربما ستكون قادرة على استلام معلومات وتحديثها اثناء المهمة نفسها

اعتقد انها ستكون قادرة على تنفيذ مهمات متنوعه مثل جو-جو و جو-ارض ................ وربما ستكون قادرة على استلام معلومات وتحديثها اثناء المهمة نفسها

سيكون النظام الجديد بالاضافة الى ما قاله الاخ اشرف قادر على تحديد نوعية الهدف للطائرة و اختيار الصاروخ / القنبلة المناسب تلقائيا , و لن يكون على الطيار الا confirm and fire.


ايضا , سيعطي النظام للطائرات استقلالية اكبر و اكثر عن القواعد الارضية. سيقترح النظام الفرضية او الخطة المناسبة للهجوم والدفاع , بل سيكون Squadron leader او بالعربية قائد السرب القتالي قادر على فعل ذلك حسب الوضع امامه و ارسال ما وضع من تشكيل او خطط لباقي طائرات السرب للتنفيذ بدون الرجوع الى الارض!

سيكون النظام الجديد بالاضافة الى ما قاله الاخ اشرف قادر على تحديد نوعية الهدف للطائرة و اختيار الصاروخ / القنبلة المناسب تلقائيا , و لن يكون على الطيار الا confirm and fire.


ايضا , سيعطي النظام للطائرات استقلالية اكبر و اكثر عن القواعد الارضية. سيقترح النظام الفرضية او الخطة المناسبة للهجوم والدفاع , بل سيكون squadron leader او بالعربية قائد السرب القتالي قادر على فعل ذلك حسب الوضع امامه و ارسال ما وضع من تشكيل او خطط لباقي طائرات السرب للتنفيذ بدون الرجوع الى الارض!

والله هاذه الطائرة لم تركع في الارض من مدة والى ترجع اقوى من اول بمراحل خرافية

دائما ماتخرج من المسرح وترجع للظهور بمفاجئة اكبر مما كان لديها لتسعد جمهورها

U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz announced an end to the fleetwide stand-down Sept. 19 - first in a letter to Congress, then in a statement posted on the Air Force's web site.

Schwartz approved a plan developed by Air Combat Command that allows the 160 twin-engine fighters to fly above 50,000 feet - the Raptor flies at 60,000 feet in normal circumstances - after an extensive inspection of every aircraft's life support systems. The systems also will be inspected daily.
In addition, the plan calls for pilots to undergo physiological tests and to use additional protective equipment, although the statement did not specify the equipment.
In his statement, Schwartz said he based his decision on studies conducted by the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, which has been investigating the Raptor since the stand-down took effect May 3.
"We now have enough insight from recent studies and investigations that a return to flight is prudent and appropriate," Schwartz said. "We're managing the risks with our aircrews, and we're continuing to study the F-22's oxygen systems and collect data to improve its performance."
Investigators initially believed a malfunction of the F-22's On-Board Oxygen Generating System, or OBOGS, caused 14 cases of hypoxia, a condition that can bring on nausea, headache or fatigue when the body is deprived of oxygen.
Capt. Jeffrey Haney died late last year in an F-22 crash about 100 miles north of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, where he was assigned. The cause of the crash has not been made public
