The team at Boeing Mesa, Arizona, recently began production on the first of 24 AH-64E Apache helicopters for Morocco.
Why it matters: “By acquiring the Apache, Morocco will receive the world’s most advanced, proven attack helicopter that will enhance their defense forces for years to come,” said Christina Upah, vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs and senior Boeing Mesa site executive. “Boeing’s partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco spans decades, and I am proud the Apache is now part of this legacy.”
Catch up quick: Announced in June 2020, Morocco became the 17th country to acquire the Boeing AH-64 Apache.
- Under a contract with the U.S. Army through the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales program, Boeing will produce 24 E-model Apaches for Morocco.
What’s next: Deliveries to Morocco are scheduled to begin in 2024.
