من المنتظر ان تستضيف بوركينافاسو فعايات تمارين 2019 flintlock التي ستركز مرة أخرى هذا العام ، مثلما العام الماضي ، على القيادة على مستوى العمليات التنفيذية والسيطرة على الوحدات التكتيكية و العمليات الخاصة و التي تشارك فيها مختلف الوحدات الخاصة الافريقية و ستعرف المناورات هذه السنة تأطيرا من طرف مدربيين من القوات الخاصة المغربية و الامريكية و كذالك دعم لوجيستي من نيجر
MAJ. GEN. HICKS:......So our intent is not just to have another successful exercise, but to leave behind real capability with our partner forces. We’re going to focus again this year, like we did last year, on operational-level command and control of tactical units, truly simulating the environment and activities on the ground in both the G5 Sahel and the MNJTF. And just a note about the history of Flintlock: this is a decades-old western SOF training activity, by which western, primarily U.S., Canadian, British, and French SOF partners train SOF across Europe, and now with European SOF well-established, we’ve migrated this activity to the continent of Africa, where we and the western SOF community have the opportunity to share some of the lessons and experiences we learned with our African partners. This will be the first year that some of our African partners who’ve been trained by western SOF over the years will also participate as training cadres. So I look forward to seeing Niger and Moroccan SOF trainers as well as trainees in this year’s Flintlock.
