MOSCOW, August 18. /TASS/. Russia's Typhoon-K wheeled armored vehicle (factory index KAMAZ-53949) will soon be available to foreign customers, the press office of Russia’s military hardware exporter Rosoboronexport has announced, adding that Rosoboronexport CEO Anatoly Isaikin and the manufacturer’s CEO, Faiz Khafizov, have put their signatures on a joint program.
"The program is slated for 2017-2018 and will go into effect the moment its approved. Once that happens, Rosoboronexport’s marketing projects and international shows and exhibitions will be adjusted accordingly. A presentation sample of the Typhoon-K four-by-four vehicle, designed to meet foreign customers’ needs, is to be delivered by the end of 2016," Rosoboronexport stated in a news release.
Isaikin sees good prospects for marketing the Typhoon-K in northern Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, Latin America and the CIS.
The Typhoon-K was designed for general purpose and special troops, including peacekeeping forces. Capable of carrying personnel and cargoes, its chassis can be also used to carry engineering equipment and weapons.
