According the Scout website, the U.S. Army is on the way to develop the next upgrade of the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank, the M1A2 SEP V4. With the new design, the M1 Abrams will be more lethal, faster, lighter weight, better protected, equipped with new sensors and upgraded with new armament.
حسب موقع Scout ، فإن الجيش الامريكي في طريقه لتطوير الترقية الجديدة لدبابة المعارك الرئيسية M1A2 ابرامز الدبابة بالتصميم الجديد و الدي سيطلق عليها التعيين M1A2 SEP V4 ستكون اكتر فتكا ، اسرع ، اخف وزنا و محمية اكتر و مجهزة بمستشعرات جديدة و بتسليح جديد .
To increase the combat capabilities of the M1A2 Abrams, it will be fitted with next-generation of sights, sensors, targeting systems and digital networking technology. The first tests of the M1A2 SEP V4 should start in 2021.
لزيادة القدرات القتالية لدبابة M1A2 ستجهز بالجيل الجديد من عدسات التصوير البصرية و المستشعرات و نظام التهديف و ايضا شبكة من التقنيات الرقمية digital networking technology .اول عملية تجارب من المفترض ان تبدأ في حلول سنة 2021 .
The M1A2 SEPV V4 will be upgraded with many equipment as a new laser rangefinder, color cameras, integrated on-board networks, new slip-rings, advanced meteorological sensors, ammunition data links, laser warning receivers and a far more lethal, multi-purpose 120mm tank round.

Improved FLIR technologies also help tank crews better recognize light and heat signatures emerging from targets such as enemy sensors, electronic signals or enemy vehicles. This enhancement provides an additional asset to a tank commander’s independent thermal viewer.

The M1A2 SEP V4 will use Advanced Multi-Purpose 120mm ammunition round able to combine a variety of different rounds into a single tank round which will replace four tank rounds currently in use by the M1A2 Abrams tank family.
ستستعمل دبابة M1A2 SPE V4 دخيرة متطورة متعددة الاستعمالات عيار 120 ملم و التي ستدمج مختلف انواع القدائف في قديفة واحدة و التي ستعوض 4 انواع من القدائف التي تستعمل حاليا في M1A2 دبابة .
U.S. Army plans to use the Israeli-made Trophy on the new Abrams to provide situational awareness and active protection hard kill system that operates in three major stages: Threat detection and threat tracking followed by hard kill countermeasure (Multiple Explosive Formed Penetrators – MEFP) activation and threat neutralization. The neutralization process takes place only if the threat is about to hit the platform.
