Algeria may have received into service a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III strategic airlifter, local media reported on 10 December.

A C-17 in Algerian Air Force (al Quwwat al Jawwiya al Jaza'eriya) markings landed at Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport on the same day as the announcement, the Secret Difa3 blog reported eyewitnesses as saying.

Boeing has previously confirmed Algerian interest in the C-17, but had not responded to a request for comment on the reported delivery by the time IHS Jane's went to press. In September 2013 Boeing told IHS Jane's that the company was in the early stages of negotiations with Algeria for a number of different types of aircraft, including the C-17.

it was a qatari air force c-17 wich landed in the civilian airport of algiers HB
if it was for the algerian air force it will had probably landed in the military airbase of boufarik
false alarm :)
jane's took the the report from secret difa3 website
wich is a reliable source for algerian military contracts news and infos

The deal for six C-17 globmaster for the algerian air force is still on.

Boeing sitting on eight unsold C-17s, with more orders pending

Boeing has sold two more C-17 transports to an undisclosed customer , but it will likely end the year with eight unsold white tails.
There are 10 Boeing C-17 airlifters in various stages of assembly at the company’s Long Beach, California, production facility.
Two of the aircraft are spoken for by an unnamed customer, Boeing says. Boeing is trying to sell off the other eight white tails, which will be the last produced before the factory is shuttered sometime in the summer of 2015.

The 279th – and final – C-17 fuselage will be mated to its wings in January or February, programme spokeswoman Tiffany Pitts tells Flightglobal. The operation is California’s last remaining aircraft production line and the lone widebody military aircraft production line in the USA, according to Boeing
